The Adventures of Winston the Pig: Meet Winston
Written by Sarah Ambrosia Mulleneaux
Illustrated by Nadiya Lobanova
Genre: Children's Picture Book
Winston the pig is not like the other animals where he lives. He has big red glasses and loves eating more than almost anything. He also has a habit of getting into trouble. Join Winston on the first of many adventures as he tries to find his place in the world and learns some valuable lessons along the way.
Sarah lives in Arizona with her husband, kids, and menagerie of pets including Winston the pig. She is a surgical nurse who loves writing and has enjoyed working on this book with her friend and colleague, Nadiya. She and her two sons also run a pooper scooper business called The Poop Fairy.
Nadiya Lobanova is a medical and scientific illustrator with a surgical nursing background. Due to her wide interest in other fields, she is also keen on creating illustrations for children's books and thus teamed up with Sarah to visualize a wonderful story in hopes of bringing a bit more kindness to this world through a growing generation.

ReplyDeleteThank you for posting about The Adventures of Winston the Pig, the cover is adorable and I am looking forward to reading this story with my grandchildren
ReplyDeleteHello, everyone! I am the publisher. Thank you all so much for the kind words. We're so glad that you like what we've created here. I just received the interview responses from the illustrator, so I thought that I would include them here for everyone to see.
ReplyDelete1. How long have you been creating art? How did you decide to become an illustrator?
Nadiya has been creating art in her free time for many years, but 5 years ago she decided to make it into a profession, so she can dive into art and science all day long.
2. What is something unique/quirky about you?
Nadiya loves to walk, especially in the forest and when traveling to new places. She can keep on walking and exploring literally from sunrise to sunset without getting tired. This makes quite a challenge to find a good travel companion, who can keep up.
3. What's something really interesting that's happened to you?
One weekend Nadiya went to do archery unusually early in the morning. When she returned home, a red-eared slider turtle covered all in mud after a prolonged period of heavy rains was scratching at her front door. It was the most unexpected discovery that put a beginning to a new friendship.
4. What did you enjoy most about illustrating this book?
Character design is always the best part, because this is when the characters are being born from a creative thought into our world.
5. What else would you like to share about your art? What are your plans for the future?
Nadiya is a professional medical & scientific illustrator with a good eye for details. She visually communicates complex information in the most effective way through accurate and clear illustrations created with dedication. With her artwork Nadiya aims to help people learn about various topics for personal and professional purposes, and in order to deliver art that pleases eyes and mind, she constantly keeps on honing her skills through experimenting, to push the boundaries even further.
