The hour struck midnight when she heard
the distinct click of the back door. She listened to his movements, the squeak
of the kitchen icebox, and then the creak of the back stairs.
Trishia was able to determine exactly
what he was doing by the familiar sounds. She listened to the squeak of the
faucet in the water closet, the running of the water, and Eric brushing his
teeth.
His footsteps were muffled from the
